Recently, the Hunan Provincial Energy Bureau has carried out the cleaning up and inspection work for the “13th five-year plan” wind power projects in stock to better layout the “14th five-year plan” wind power construction plan. 31 wind power projects, with a total of 1.48 million kilowatts are to be abolished after the inspection work.

The contradiction between wind power development and ecological environment protection is particularly prominent in Hunan Province. In 2018, the Forestry Department of Hunan Province issued a notice on further strengthening the audit and approval management of forest land for wind power projects, clarifying the conditions of forest land for wind power use, and standardizing and restricting the approval and use behavior of forest land.
