Recycled Carbon Fiber From Rotor Blades Finds a New Life In Skiing

Rotor blade recycling is a hot topic in the industry since years. More and more efforts have been put into the research of the recycling of the retired rotor blades. Recently Vestas introduced a ski, which is made from Millfiber™, recycled carbon fiber from Vestas blades, made by Gjenkraft, EVI Ski, the Vest Resirkcenter, and Fred Olsen Renewables in Norway.

Besides, Vestas is currently working with two major blade recycling projects – CETEC and DecomBlades – that aim to innovate and scale-up recycling and circularity solutions for recycled blades.
