China’s First Offshore Wind Power Project Under The Parity Policy Starts The Construction

On December 16, 2021, the commencement ceremony of China Resources Power Cangnan No.1 offshore wind power project was held in the nearby sea area. Cangnan No. 1 offshore wind farm is one of the most complex offshore wind power projects in terms of sea conditions and sea area geology in China. It is also the first offshore wind power project under the parity police in China.

Cangnan No.1 offshore wind power project is located in the eastern sea area of Cangnan County, Zhejiang Province, with a planned installed capacity of 400 MW. It is planned to install 49 China offshore anti typhoon offshore wind turbine units, of which China Haizhuang H210-10MW offshore wind turbine units will be applied in batch. At present, H210–10MW has the largest wind turbine diameter in China and the largest sweeping area per kilowatt in the world. It is also the only 10MW model suitable for China’s offshore wind power market under the parity policy worldwide.

Cangnan No.1 offshore wind power project is expected to be put into operation at the end of December 2022, with an annual on grid power of 1.35 billion KW and an annual equivalent full load hours of 3,388 hours. Compared with conventional coal-fired thermal power units with the same power generation capacity, it can save about 422,000 tons of standard coal and 4 million cubic meters of fresh water every year. At the same time, it can reduce the discharge of hydraulic ash discharge wastewater and warm drainage, which has obvious economic and environmental benefits.
