Mingyang Smart Energy received the first purchase order for offshore wind turbines from Europe. Mingyang will provide 10 sets of MySE3.0-135 offshore wind turbines for the Mediterranean Beleolico project of Renexia company, and provide 25 year operation and maintenance service. This is the first commercial offshore wind farm in the Mediterranean and the first offshore wind turbine order for Chinese wind turbine manufacturers in Europe.

Beleolico project is located in the Apulia area of Taranto port, Italy, with an installed capacity of 30MW and a water depth of 3-18m. The final investment decision for the project was completed in February 2019. At first, the wind farm planned to install 10 Senvion 3.0M122 wind turbines, but due to the management problem of Senvion, it was unable to continue to fulfill the order, which made Mingyang, who wanted to enter the European offshore wind power market, seize this opportunity. The wind turbines are expected to start delivery in the summer of 2021 and be connected to the grid by the end of the year.
