On November 10, 2021, China and the United States issued the Glasgow Joint Declaration on Enhancing Climate Action in the 2020s during the United Nations climate change Glasgow conference. The two sides appreciated the work carried out so far and pledged to continue to work together and work with the parties to strengthen the implementation of the Paris Agreement. On the basis of the principle of common but differentiated responsibilities and respective capabilities and taking into account the national conditions of each country, both should take intensified climate action to effectively respond to the climate crisis. The two sides agreed to establish the “Enhanced Climate Action Working Group in the 2020s” to promote bilateral climate change cooperation and multilateral process.
